“Never Give Up” is B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree
An extremely moving and true life-account of Billy, a boy who struggles to overcome the shocking realization of never being able to walk again, after diving into shallow water and breaking his neck and in an instant of careless misjudgement, becoming a quadriplegic. On a typical childhood day, when what should have been a happy and carefree exciting memorable day.. tragedy occurs and Billy ends up in a life-threatening situation; a devastating heartbreaking tragedy. With the help from his family, Billy not only shows his strength through his never-give-up attitude and facing being a paraplegic for life, but also in his ultimate strength of survival and soul.
A book that is very easily read and profoundly written, is definitely a book that the reader cannot put down. Susan L. Spahn has shown great respect and love, in the retelling of her brother’s true life experience of courage, determination and in the trust in hope, future and hard work.. that anything is possible; and what matters in life is not what you cannot do but what can you do for life … Five stars
I loved every minute of reading this moving story. This book showed to me how much power mind can have over body as the case with Billy. He must be one in a million to have endured what he went through. After finishing this great biography I don’t think I’ll ever complain about my little hurts anymore. I express my thanks for being able to read this.
All in all, a very engaging, easy read.
